Many smartphones are launched every month in India, due to which people buying a new mobile have a plethora of options. But when it comes to tablet devices, only selected options are visible. This month in January 2026, Redmi has launched its new tab REDMI Pad 2 Pro in the Indian market which has come at a starting price of Rs 24,999. Coming in the midrange segment, how much can this tab fulfill the needs of the users and how is the experience of running it? We have learned all these details after using Redmi Pad 2 Pro for almost a week and have shared them in the review written below.

Table of Contents
Design & Build Quality Redmi Pad 2 Pro
First of all, if we talk about design, REDMI Pad 2 Pro has been brought on unibody metal design. The rear panel of the Tab is flat on one part of which a zigzag striped linear pattern has been made. The device’s camera module and REDMI branding are given on this pattern. Talking about the camera setup itself, a sensor and a flash ring are provided here and both of them are placed vertically.
2-2 speaker grills are provided on both the right and left frames of Redmi Pad 2 Pro. The power button is present at the top on the right frame and the USB Type-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack are placed between the speakers on the left panel. The volume buttons are located on the upper frame of the Tab and this is also where you’ll find the SIM tray. Visually, this tablet provides a solid look.

This Redmi tablet has been launched in the market in Graphite Gray and Quick Silver colors. We got to use Quick Silver color which really gives a metallic look. The weight of this tablet is approximately 600 grams, which seems a bit heavy to carry, but due to the 7.5mm thickness, it provides good grip.

Overall, despite having a big battery and a big screen, carrying this tablet does not feel like it is really ‘big’.
Display of Redmi Pad 2 Pro
The REDMI Pad 2 Pro sports a 12.1-inch 2.5K screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:10. It was a lot of fun watching content and playing games on this big screen. We also ran OTT apps and watched videos on YouTube, both experiences were enjoyable. Due to the Dolby Vision Atmos present in the tablet, the video quality was excellent. An excellent coordination was seen between color, contrast and brightness. The more high resolution videos you watch, the more fun you will have.
This tablet supports 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling. On one hand, scrolling is smooth and on the other hand, navigation can be done by finger touch on any corner of the big screen, this makes it user friendly. The tablet has 600nits brightness which is not only perfect for indoors but also works well outdoors. It has been used on LCD panel on which the app icons and text did not appear punchy to us and appeared soft.

The tablet screen has received low blue light and flicker free certification from TÜV Rhineland. This is a Hydro Touch display due to which its touch works properly even after water falls on the screen. To be honest, we did not test it by spilling water on it but it can be assumed that sweaty or wet hands will not cause any hindrance.

Battery life & Charging
Along with the big screen, the company has also installed a big battery in REDMI Pad 2 Pro. This tablet has been launched on a 12,000mAh battery, which is much more than the 10,000mAh battery given in the previous version Redmi Pad Pro. In the testing of 91Mobiles, when PC Mark Battery benchmark was run on it, the app crashed due to which it is difficult to tell the exact score. When we started using the tablet, its battery was 78%. Now at the time of writing the review it has come down to 26% only after 5 days. During this time, this tablet has always been on standby mode and played online videos for about 2.5 to 3 hours daily. During the test, when we played a YouTube video for 30 minutes with the screen brightness and volume set to 50%, the battery dropped by only 3%.

To charge the tablet’s large battery faster, it has been provided with 33W fast charging technology. During testing, it took minutes to charge the device from 20 percent to 100 percent full. Interestingly, customers will get this 33W fast charger in the box itself. A major feature of REDMI Pad 2 Pro is the 27W reverse charging provided in it. Through this, any mobile phone, earbuds or smartwatch can be charged. That means this tablet can also work as a power bank.
Performance
REDMI Pad 2 Pro has been launched on Android based HyperOS 2. For processing, this tablet has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 octa-core built on 4 nanometer fabrications which is capable of running at clock speeds ranging from 1.8 GHz to 2.7 GHz. For graphics, it has Adreno 810 GPU. To test the capability of the processor, we ran some benchmarks in it, the scores of which you can see in the table below.
| Benchmark test | Benchmark score |
| Single-core geekbench | 1251 |
| Multi-core geekbench | 3348 |
| PCmark performance | 14243 |
| AI benchmark | 2188 |
| Burnout Test | 71.4% |
To make the tablet performance better and smoother, Redmi has installed LPDDR4X RAM UFS 2.2 Storage in it. During daily use, we did not have any special complaints about its performance. Multitasking was not very smooth but it was not lagging either. The reason for this can also be considered to be the transition theme of HyperOS which was doing app opening and switching in its own style. The option of multi window and floating window is also available in the tab which makes the use easy and beneficial.

Whereas the performance of Redmi Pad Pro 2 was fine during gaming. Our team played BGMI and Call of Duty games for half an hour each on this tablet. You can see the result of how the tab performed during the gaming session in the table below. While playing the game, we also got an average experience.
| Mobile Game | Graphics Settings (Max) | Frame Rate (Max) | Frame Rate (Average) | Battery Drop | Temperature Rise |
| COD:M | Very High | Ultra | 57.9fps | 5% | 5% 3.0° |
| BGMI | Ultra HDR | Extreme | 36.1fps | 8% | 0.9° |
Camera
For photography, 8-megapixel camera sensor is provided on both the back and front of REDMI Pad 2 Pro. The result of the rear camera was decent. Users get photo and video as well as portrait, pro and document modes. This tablet has a digital zoom of up to 6.0x. However, the quality was deteriorating slightly when zoomed. With the back camera we were able to record 1080p video at 60fps.
But one thing that surprised us was that in all modes, even at maximum zoom, the quality of text captured in the frame was quite good. It captures every color of text quite accurately. At the same time, options like beautify and filters available in the rear camera of Redmi Tab also help in improving the photo quality.
The quality of the front camera of Redmi Pad 2 Pro is also quite good. It automatically captures the skin tone by making it smooth and clear. The company has also provided HDR support in the selfie sensor which will be useful. Not only can wide frame selfies be taken with this tab, it also works well during online meetings or conferences. Getting such front camera results in a tablet would really be praiseworthy.
Useful features
There are some features in REDMI Pad 2 Pro which will be very useful during daily life use. Dolby Atmos quad speakers have been installed in this tablet which have the ability to provide excellent and loud sound. These can be heard at 300% volume. Dual 5G SIM support has been provided in it, due to which SIM can be installed in the tablet. This is a hybrid slot, a memory card can also be inserted along with the SIM. Features like Circle To Search and Gemini AI will also be useful to the users.
For connectivity, Redmi Pad 2 Pro has Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. This tablet also comes with support for Redmi Smart Pen and Pad 2 Pro Keyboard, which will have to be purchased separately. The rate of both is ₹ 3,999. We used both for review but here it depends on the user whether he wants to buy them or not. However, even without these two accessories, there will be no problem in using REDMI Pad 2 Pro.
Conclusion
REDMI Pad 2 Pro Wi-Fi model has been launched with 8GB RAM 128GB Storage which is priced at Rs 24,999. Whereas the REDMI Pad 2 Pro 5G model supports 128GB and 256GB storage with 8GB RAM. Both these variants have been launched for Rs 27,999 and Rs 29,999 respectively. If you want a tablet with a larger screen then Redmi Pad 2 Pro can be chosen. Along with the large display, its powerful battery is a major feature of the tablet.

Reverse charging technology makes the use of the tablet advanced. Usually the camera of tablets does not satisfy but the camera of Redmi Pad 2 Pro will not disappoint. This tab works on HyperOS 2 which has been brought with 5th generation Android OS update and 7 years of security updates. There are many flagship phones in which such long updates are not given. In this case REDMI Pad 2 Pro will be called better.
The design of this tablet may not be very attractive but it is not bad either. The screen is decent and the content is a pleasure to watch. Overall, Redmi Pad 2 Pro has done a good job in the field of display and battery. The processor is average and the camera is slightly better than average. Buying REDMI Pad 2 Pro in the range of Rs 25 to 30 thousand will not prove to be a losing deal. In this range, apart from Redmi Pad 2 Pro, the latest OPPO Pad 5, OnePlus Pad Go 2 and Lenovo Idea Tab Plus are some of the options available in the market which can be considered.
